How to Build a Paintball Gun

If you build a paintball gun, you won’t have to shell out money to buy the stuff at the stores. The good thing is you only need some very basic equipment.

Required Tools and Materials

Plumber Saw
The plumber’s glue
Primer
Screws
Cement
Driller
Screwdrivers (several sizes)
Plumber’s tape
Tire replacement valve
PVC (1”)
PVC barrel
2 PVC elbows (1”)
PVC end cap (1”), nipple (3/4), reducer (3/4), ball valve (3/4)
2 PVC tees (1”)

Note: to avoid confusion the tees will be referred to as “A” and “B”. The straight ends will be called A1, A2, B1 and B2. The perpendiculars will be termed Ax and Bx. You can also put markers on the pipes too as identifying labels.

Prepare the Material

Begin to build a paintball gun by sawing a couple of pieces from the 1” PVC. The two pieces must be of equal length. Put tape if there are threads on the pipe. Take one of these and attach two PVC elbows on both ends. Apply primer and then cement to connect them. Both elbows should be oriented the same way.

Connect the Tees

Get the other PVC pipe. Link the two tees to it. Again use primer and cement. On one tee end affix the Ax and on the other end put in B1. Apply some more concrete to join them. You’ll end up with a box like structure.

Create the Outer Structure

Take the PVC nipple and put on the tee marked B2. The next step to build a paintball gun is to fasten the ball valve to it. Use a screw to link it to the nipple. Take another screw and set the barrel in place. This should be on the valve too.

Use the drill to make a hole in the cap. The tire valve must fit in. Use the plumber’s glue to secure it in place. Get the 1” PVC and saw 9” from it. Get the tee with the A2 label. Connect it to this PVC. Use cement to fortify it. Don’t forget to secure the end cap too.

It is finished. All you need to do is let the cement dry. For best results, leave it for a couple of days. Do not let it be exposed to rain.

Tips

Before you build a paintball gun, make sure to use only pressure tested PVCs. If they aren’t it could break. Also, using the gun before it dries could result in malfunctioning.

Be careful when you use this. Always test it before playing. If you are going to use it in play, make sure everyone is wearing the proper attire. Without the right gear you could end up being hurt.

You should also test the balls you will use. There may be different types. Practice firing first before you use it game play. Do not aim this at people or animals not involved in the game. This could result in serious injury.
