How to Cook Trout

Trout are marine species that are commonly seen or present in freshwater like lakes and clear streams. The species are commonly used as special ingredients in tasty seafood dishes. Because of the popularity of the species, some people develop fish farms to raise trout. Baked Trout Saratoga

To prepare this pleasant tasting dish, you need four pounds trout, ½ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon pepper, a can of diced tomatoes, two tablespoons olive oil, two tablespoons chopped parsley, a clove of garlic, ½ cup white wine, a lemon and four sprigs of parsley. Preheat oven to 205 degrees Celsius or 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Season the fish with pepper and salt. Arrange the fish in a greased baking dish. In a medium bowl, mix olive oil, diced tomatoes, minced garlic and two tablespoons of chopped parsley. Top the fish with the mixture. Baste the dish with wine. Place the dish in the oven and cook for 40 minutes. Remove the dish from the oven and place in a clean plate. Slice lemon into wedges. Garnish the dish with the remaining parsley and lemon wedges.

Trout Amandine

This mouth watering dish contains two whole trout, a teaspoon of salt, a teaspoon of pepper, ¼ cup all purpose flour, four tablespoons butter, ½ cup blanched silvered almonds, two tablespoons lemon juice, a tablespoon of chopped parsley and eight lemon slices. Season the seafood with pepper and salt. Coat the seafood with flour. Put two tablespoons butter in a pan. Heat pan over medium fire. Add the seafood and cook each side for five minutes to seven minutes. Remove the seafood and transfer on a clean plate.

Heat another skillet and melt the remaining butter. Cook the almonds for two minutes. Pour the almonds and the butter over the seafood. Garnish with chopped parsley and lemon slices.

Additional Tips

Make sure that you wash the seafood well before cooking to avoid food contamination. It is also important to dry the fish before frying. To enhance the taste of the fish, you can season with garlic powder and herbs like rosemary as well as thyme. Do not overcook fish since it can affect the overall taste of the dish.
