How to Bake Meringue

Baked Grapefruit Meringue

This tasty dessert contains two white o pink grapefruit, an egg white, ½ teaspoon cream of tartar, two teaspoons brown sugar and two teaspoons unsweetened desiccated coconut. To make the dessert, the first step is to slice the fruit into two. Remove the loosened sections of the fruit. Set aside. Combine the cream of tartar and egg white in a bowl. Mix in the sugar and beat until the mixture becomes foamy. Spread the mixture on top of the fruit slices forming the usual shape of this dessert. Drizzle the dessert with coconut. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Cook for 10 minutes. Let the dish cool down for five to ten minutes and serve.

Baked Apple Meringue

For this special and delicious dessert, you will use six baked and cooled apples, ½ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon almond extract, three egg whites and ½ cup sugar. Beat egg whites. Baked Peach Meringue

The dessert has four sliced peaches, an ounce of brown sugar, two tablespoons marsala, four egg whites and nine ounces light brown sugar. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Sprinkle peaches with brown sugar. Top the fruits with ¼ cup of lemon juice and marsala. Set aside. Mix beaten egg whites and light brown sugar in a bowl. Top the peaches with the meringue.
