How to Bake Bacon

Known as a cured cut of pork, bacon is are usually boiled, smoked and broiled before eating. One of the simplest and easiest ways of preparing the meat is with the use of the cooking method popularly called as baking. To enjoy the taste of the meat, you can add healthy ingredients with the meat like cheese and beans. Bacon Baked Beans

The dish can be served as an appetizer or as a main course. If you want to prepare the dish at home, the ingredients that you need include two large cans of original baked beans, three tablespoons ketchup, three tablespoons mustard and a pound of bacon. Additionally, the dish has ½ teaspoon pepper, two tablespoons brown sugar as well as four green onions.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cut the meat into bite size pieces. Saute the meat on a pan over medium fire. Add in the baked beans and cook for five to ten minutes. Slice the green onions. Add the onions and the remaining ingredients into the pan. Mix well and heat for a minute. Transfer the dish into a baking pan. Place the baking pan in the oven and cook for 10 minutes. Serve immediately.

Cheesy Bacon Baked Potatoes

For this luscious and delicious dish, you need four pounds of baking potatoes, four slices of bacon, 1/3 cup chopped onion, 1/3 cup diced green pepper, two cups sliced mushrooms and 1 ½ cup grated Cheddar cheese. In addition to these, the dish has two tablespoons of milk, two tablespoons butter, a slightly beaten egg and a teaspoon of salt.

Scrub taters and wash. Dry taters with the use of paper towel. Pierce each tater with fork. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Place potatoes in a baking dish. Bake for an hour. Heat skillet over medium high heat. Saute the meat. Remove bacon from the heat. Saute onion and green pepper in the pan with bacon drippings. Stir in mushrooms and sauté for two minutes to three minutes.

Remove potatoes from the oven. Set aside for 10 minutes. Remove the flesh of taters with the use of a spoon. Make sure that the shell of potatoes are intact. Mash the flesh of potatoes. Combine mashed taters with a cup of cheese, butter, milk, egg, vegetables, meat and salt. Spoon the dish into the shells. Return the dish to oven and bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
