How to Cook Beef Brisket

Beef brisket is one of the most special, primal and expensive cuts from the breast of a cow. This meat is commonly used in preparing and serving international dishes like pot roast and corned beef. Brisket in White Wine

The ingredients for this delectable dish include two pounds beef brisket, a tablespoon of oil, ½ cup dry white wine, ½ teaspoon salt and ½ teaspoon pepper. Aside from these, you need a medium size onion, four minced garlic cloves, two medium coarsely chopped tomatoes, four peeled carrots and four medium peeled parsnips. In addition to these, you will use ½ cup chicken stock, ¼ cup water, a teaspoon dried thyme, a teaspoon dried rosemary, a bay leaf and 12 crushed juniper berries.

Preheat oven to 225 degrees Fahrenheit. Heat oil in a pan over medium fire. Season the meat with pepper and salt. Brown the meat in the pan. Transfer brisket in a plate and pour the wine in the pan. Heat the wine for a minute and add the onions and garlic. Stir and cook for five minutes. Return the meat to the pan and add carrots, parsnips, tomatoes, water, thyme, chicken stock, rosemary, juniper berries and bay leaf. Wait until the dish simmers. Cover the pan and place inside the oven. Cook for three hours and remove bay leaf. Transfer the dish in a large bowl and serve immediately.

Easy Beef Brisket with Vegetables

In this pleasant tasting viand, you need four pounds beef brisket, two tablespoons all purpose flour, a teaspoon of onion powder, a teaspoon of garlic powder, a teaspoon of dried oregano, ½ teaspoon kosher salt, three pounds potatoes, a pound of carrots and eight ounces mushrooms. Aside from these, you need a head garlic, ½ large sweet onion, a package of onion soup mix, a package of mushroom gravy mix, a cup of tomato juice, a cup of water and a large oven cooking bag.

Put the all purpose flour in the cooking bag. Season the meat with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper and oregano. Place the meat in the cooking bag. Add the onions in the bag. Mix soup mix, water and tomato juice in a medium size bowl. Pour the tomato juice mixture in the bag and add the sliced potatoes, carrots and mushrooms. Seal the bag and place inside the oven that was preheated to 250 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake for three hours. Slice the meat and serve with the mushroom gravy.
