How to Bake Sweet Potatoes

One of the dicotyledonous plants that are classified in the Convolvulacea family, the sweet potato is a tuberous crop that contains various forms of carbohydrates and protein. Examples of nutrients that people can get when they eat this crop are vitamin A, beta carotene and vitamin C. Aside from these, the crop is also a good source of potassium, zinc, folate as well as phosphorus. An easy way of cooking this crop is baking. Easy Baked Sweet Potato

Some of the ingredients that you need for this recipe are two tablespoons olive oil, three large sweet potatoes and ½ teaspoon dried oregano. For the seasoning, you should have ½ teaspoon salt and ½ teaspoon ground black pepper.

Brush the bottom part of a baking dish with olive oil. Wash the crops and dry with the use of paper towel. Carefully remove the skin or the outer part of the crops. Slice the sweet potatoes into bite size pieces. Arrange the crops in the baking dish. Season with pepper and salt. Drizzle the crops with oregano to enhance the taste. Place the baking dish in an oven that was preheated to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake for an hour. Set aside for 10 minutes. Serve and enjoy.

Whole Baked Sweet Potato with Seasonings

The dish contains four medium size sweet potatoes, a teaspoon of vegetable oil, a teaspoon of melted butter, a teaspoon of cinnamon sugar, ½ teaspoon pepper and ½ teaspoon pepper. Get a small brush and scrub the skin of the crops. Wash these with running water and dry with paper towel.

Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the sweet potatoes in the rack. Bake the crops for 30 minutes to 45 minutes. To check if the crops are already cooked, get a fork and prick the middle part of the sweet potatoes. If the fork can be removed easily, then the crops are done.

Remove the dish from the oven and pour the melted butter on top of the crops. Sprinkle the remaining seasonings on the sweet potatoes. To enhance the taste of this dish or snack, you can top the dish with grated cheese. You can also serve the snack with your favorite dip like melted cheese or sour and cream. The recipe serves two to four persons.
